Prague Wheel Open toernament started a new era for floorball on wheels
Datum: 23-8-2011 - Lubomír Skála - Tournament secretaryThe first international club wheelchair floorball tournament Prague Wheel Open extended family of Top Class Sport Events tournaments and completed the portfolio of biggest floorball toernament on the planet by version for disabled floorball players. Eight clubs from three countries met on 18th - 20th August in Prague in Trebesin hall to kick-start a new tradition.
Tournament dominated FBC ABAK Remedicum Ostrava, who defeated SKV Prague CompAp Team - the organizing club of the tournament. Dutch Doing finished third. Individual awards took in two cases the tournament's dark horse Tatran Stresovice - Zdenek Krupicka in the category of best shooter and Jaroslav Novotny as the best goalkeeper. The best player was selected from the Dutch Doing Shiraz Bandhoe.
"I thank all who participated in the tournament, I am convinced that this is a stap in the right direction", said tournament director Marin Vacík. "I like the fact that the tournament is equally ranked among other Top Class Sport Events and is not somewhere in background, as unfortunately sometimes happens in sport for disabled people." expressed his satisfaction vicepresident of CWFF Dominik Drahoninsky.
Next year's tournament as said the direct responses of all participants end up being a significant increase in the number of participants, organizers hope that at least double. Prague Wheel Open 2012 will take place 23rd - 25th August, again next week after the Czech Open.
